Bio
I have played piano all my life, and really got serious as a concert pianist toward the end of high school and especially in college and university conservatory. While getting my undergraduate degree at Ithaca College, I apprenticed as a piano technician under the instruction of Edward Swenson, and by the time I left Ithaca to get a Masters with Robert Weirich in Kansas City, I was also a piano technician onward.
As a pianist for the Kansas City Ballet and learning more and more repertoire, I decided to hold off on continuing to get degrees in Academia after receiving my masters, and to try teaching at the college level in Vermont. There I taught at University of Vermont, SUNY Plattsburg, Champlain College, and Johnson State College. As an audio engineer and announcer for Vermont Public Radio, I made further connections, performing at VPR functions, both on and off the air. I was also a founding member as Harpsichordist in the Burlington Chamber Orchestra, and performed with other groups, including Counterpoint and the Vermont Contemporary Chamber Ensemble
I returned to the Fingerlakes to continue some work in historical piano restoration with Edward Swenson, and decided to settle in Interlaken, NY in 2014. Here I do a lot of everything in a good balance, though I miss practicing more. I have a teaching and practicing studio built into the front of my shop.
If you are walking by, it is possible you will see a black and black and white cat sleeping in the window. Feel free to say hello or drop a line,
